This is my truth, and my truth is that Jesus is real along with being the only truth that I need. Most of my life was spent avoiding Jesus to the best of my abilities. Irony being, God spent my life to the best of His abilities chasing after me.
Again, this is my story and my truth. We live in a post-modern world, where every person’s truth is real and relative based on their own lived experiences. However, knowing the way, the life, and the truth, according to Jesus, radically changes a person because God loves us – and when we let God in, He does not leave us the same.
At this point I hardly recognize myself. At this point, I can only attribute these changes to God – they are beyond what I could have ever imagined myself to become. There are less curse words every day in my mouth. There are less harmful thoughts every day in my mind. There are less destructive habits every day in my actions.
Someone dear once wrote inside a gifted devotional, years before I would eventually accept Christ, that I could be the person God had dreamed me to be. In finding Jesus, that is exactly the process I have been experiencing – the changes in me are beyond my own strength or human abilities because instead I am finally becoming the person God dreamed me to be through His will and through His word. These changes could not have been done by myself, of woman – let me tell you, I tried. It was impossible and something I would have never achieved. Instead, I let Jesus in and everything makes sense now, everything that felt to be truth no longer holds.
